I'm walking through a resort in Mexico, carrying a pineapple and camera, wondering if I am out of my mind. I'm shooting pineapple photos and my level of self-consciousness continues to rise as people pass me with confused looks.
Interestingly enough, the “why” behind the idea of being a pineapple photographer is something that gets a bit deeper for me personally. I explained why pineapples a little bit here in our first post, but the more I explore places with a pineapple, the deeper the why begins to get. The more I seem to exude actual pineapple symbolism.
As I shot, I wondered what I should say if someone asks me about the pineapple or what I'm doing? I don't think, “I just like pineapples,” will cut it.
I remember there is a comedy where an actor is playing a cat photographer. I really wish I could remember the movie; however, I began laughing at the idea of being a pineapple photographer.
It's just so off the wall that it's perfect.
Saying that I'm a “pineapple photographer” is weird enough to peak interest.
Mind you, I have not had the delight of saying anything like this out loud to anyone. Will I have the guts to call myself a pineapple photographer? I imagine that I'd be the only one in the world. That's pretty specialized and who knows what kind of opportunities that could land – let CreativeLive know you want a class. lol
Let me know your thoughts. I'd love to hear them!
