When a Pineapple Stays at an Airbnb

What an atmosphere!

At the end of November, I travelled out to Montreal for a very short stay. I needed a place to stay and decided to try Airbnb for the very first time, ever. What a sweet decision over a traditional hotel.

On Airbnb, I found this funky loft. The price was great and the location was a quick walk from the train station!

On my way to Montreal, I got some unsettling news that would change the trajectory of the trip. Thankfully, the Airbnb loft was the silver lining: It was exactly as cool as it showed on the website when booking.

I had very little time and needed to find a pineapple to photograph in such a rad space as couscous, the heart-warming cat, slept contently. The only thing that was going to turn my mood around was to grab and shoot some pineapple vibes.

By the time I got back to the loft for some pineapple photos, I had very little light left in the day and only my iPhone to shoot images. Although the quality isn't the best, this is still what happens when a pineapple stays in an Airbnb.

If you're planning a trip to Montreal, I highly recommend booking a room in this awesome loft. I wanted to cancel my 6am train the next morning and stay another day just to chill.

Had light lasted. Had I had my Sony Alpha 7II. Had I had my tripod and flash. Had I stayed another day or 2. I'd have come away with the most fun pineapple photos around. I mean, this place had a swing, hammock, and Edison bulbs all over.

I left Montreal feeling inspired instead of totally devastated. Seeing that there are people that live and create such a livable and inspiring atmosphere was needed.

I can't wait to go back to Montreal for another stay!
